Storybooks and picture books
Chapter books
E-books (tablet or computer)

Kid-friendly magazines with articles
Graphic novels or comics
❌Reading that does NOT count
Reading outside the official Read-a-Thon dates
Classroom reading during the school day
Watching TV or movies (even if based on a book)

Random internet browsing or non-book websites
Audiobooks as the only form of reading
Does my child have to raise money to participate?
No. Students can earn prizes just by reading and logging their minutes. All registered students receive a smencil, and reading 160+ minutes earns a Radburn Croc Charm.
The PTA is also offering additional prizes for the One Book One School trivia raffle, as well as rewards for the top reading class per grade and top reader per grade.
All students share in earned class and school-wide prizes, whether they personally participate in the Read-A-Thon or not.
How do we log reading minutes?
Families log minutes directly in their student’s 99Pledges page. You received a special link in your e-mail from 99 pledges. Just enter the total minutes per day in the box and you're done!
Can my child log minutes if we forget to enter them one day?
Yes. You can log reading minutes at any time during the Read-A-Thon. Simply enter the total minutes read for the day or update them later.
We will share daily updates on the top reading and fundraising classes, so logging regularly helps students stay excited as they watch their class progress!
Can multiple students in the same family participate?
Yes. Each student registers and logs minutes on their own page. If siblings read together at home, both students may count that reading time.
I'm new to Radburn, how did the Read-a-thon go last year?
Last year over 82% of Radburn students participated in the Read-a-thon. The students read over 187,000 minutes and raised over $30,000. Our goals have been adjusted this year to account for the shorter duration of the read-a-thon (9 days this year vs 11 days last year).
If you have trouble registering or logging minutes, contact the PTA at: read@radburnpta.org
Include your child’s name and teacher.
